Kim’s Terrace, Part Two

Here’s the latest update on Kim’s fab downtown terrace.
We selected a sectional for additional seating and to anchor a blank corner.
This sectional was very cost effective and it shipped almost immediately.

Kim then selected outdoor accent pillows conveniently on sale at West Elm.

Our Landscape Architect, Alan Whidby, sourced and selected the wonderful faux concrete pots. While browsing at Home Depot, I went crazy over these aptly name Kimberly Queen ferns. Thick, full and on sale; these started to solve the much needed privacy dilemma.

Next, we’re installing other vertical elements. Umbrellas and small Tiger Eye Sumac trees, which turn orange in the autumn, and Dakota Pinnacle Birch trees in Cortan Steel planters to which we are adding single solar power spots to give ambiance and drama during evening hours and so simple to install.

We love the versatility of the custom Cortan Steel planters.

Kim and I have been talking about creating a water element to provide white noise to drown out the freeway overpass – it’s not that noticeable but water is such a great Zen element.
