Tonight? We’ll Be At The WAM Bash
12 February 2015
Note from Editor:
WAM Bash– the results are in! Here’s a note from Betsy & Brian Lucas– 2015 event chairs:
Dear WAM Host Committee,
It’s a wrap!
Wow. What a spectacular event!
The 2015 Big WAM Bash has been a great success thanks to everyone involved. It just wouldn’t be the same without the commitment of our wonderful committee of hosts and the creativity and dedication of Lyndel King and the entire WAM staff.
A big thank you to you all for helping to fill the museum with a fabulous crowd of party-goers and supporters. The results are in and the night was a huge success!
• Preliminary results indicate that we raised $197,000 in total revenue, including $29,000 in auction/fund-a-need proceeds (an increase of 69% over last year’s auction/fund-a-need!).
• We sold 239 individual tickets (21 more than last year) and welcomed 450 guests throughout the night!
• And John Munson again told us how much The New Standards love WAM and playing for our guests!
It was a very successful party and we can’t thank you enough for all your hard work and leadership in once again bringing the community to WAM! The money raised will support WAM’s acclaimed education programs, including a new Artist-in-Schools-Residency project they will be piloting in the fall.
The buzz is already starting about next year. I’m hearing from people who don’t want to miss the fun in 2016. We hope you will join us again next year!

Yes, I know this is a re-post but more importantly it’s a reminder. Hope to see you there!
Are you free this evening?
I’m amongst the co-hosts of this amazing event to support an amazing museum designed by the amazing Frank Gehry. I kindly request your attendance.
It’s a super fun party and guaranteed to produce an impressive turnout of Twin Citians. And you in-the-know- know I’ll be there. And what? Who am I wearing? Gaultier.
I look forward to seeing you there! Tickets here.
Join us for the third annual Big WAM Bash! (See full site, sponsors and details here).

Tom Marioni The Act of Drinking Beer with Friends is the Highest Form of Art: A bar set up in the museum gallery as art. Tom invites people to drink beer and mingle as he tells jokes and stories with his guests. This project originated at the Oakland Museum in 1970 and now is a weekly event in San Francisco.
Ana Prvacki The Greeting Committee : Guests are welcomed at the door with a sweet treat. Based on a Serbian tradition, this greeting is meant to sweeten your tongue and sweeten your visit. Ana will be working with the WAM Collective and tour guides to welcome guests.
